Autumn

© Natasha Hopkins
Natasha Hopkins sent in this attractive shot of autumn in Tasmania. The tree and bench are both well placed, along with beautiful warm lighting from late in the day. A well-composed and simple, yet effective shot of nature's bounty when the seasons change.
Ducks in a Row

© Mick Gardner
Mick says, 'This was a grab shot taken at Delheim in Cape Town. We were on our way to have lunch when these three ducks appeared on the well-manicured lawn. I really like how it turned out.'
The photo turned out beautifully. Its clean and simple - and sharp where it counts. I'm not usually a fan of cropping, but given that it was a grab shot, removing some of the green adds impact to this image. I like how the duck on the right has its head turned in the opposite direction - it gives a lovely balance to this shot. Well done - you really do have your ducks in a row here.
Toddler on Bridge

© Laura Gatt
Laura writes, 'This photo of a toddler was taken at the Ross River in Townsville, Australia. I like the soft colours of the late afternoon sun.'
Yes, the lighting in this shot is beautiful and conveys a tranquil mood. The image is nicely balanced and overall very pleasing to the eye. It's a shame that the main subject, the little boy, isn't a tad sharper. A tripod can be a life-saver in fairly low-light situations when the shutter speed is slow.
