Wedding Photo Ideas

Welcome to our wedding photo ideas page where you can get tips to take creative candids at weddings.

Unique Wedding Photos

Forget the stiff, posed look at a wedding and produce some authentic candids of the happy day. Formal photographs, however beautiful, don’t necessarily reflect the best memories of the day. These often come from the more informal episodes like snatched kisses, heart-felt laughter, unexpected tears, playing children and even the boo-boos that made everyone gasp. Opportunities to get touching or intimate shots at weddings are everywhere!

Remember that candids are not meant to replace the formal photos that are destined to go in the wedding album. However, offering a second album, complementary to the official one, is an excellent idea.

Wedding Photo Tips

• Make sure you’ve got lots of batteries and cards and keep shooting. Grabbed shots, for example two children having fun on the dance floor, can make for great memories. Also look out for expression of emotion – these moments usually capture the essence of the day better than anything else!

• Take care to respect any rulings regarding taking photos in places of worship.

• Bright days and lots of white satin can lead to underexposure of some shots. Keep your eye on the LCD screen and if necessary, add a +0.5 EV compensation to stop the bride’s dress losing its sparkle.
