Female Form Photography as Art
Welcome to my female form photography page.
If you are artistically inclined as a photographer, you may be considering photographing the nude or partially nude female form as photographic art. The human female is so complexly, even mystically, beautiful in form and shape that resisting the urge to make artful photographs of her is almost futile.
Female Photography
One of the most important things for the photographer to keep in mind in female photography is to never let it degenerate into pornography. What follows about the art of female form photography is not in the least bit for the person interested in explicit nudity.

Important in female photography is that the female's natural form shine through or else you don't have female form photographic art!
Different Types of Female Form Photography
There are several ways to go about creating photographic art from the female form.
Female form glamour photography
This is highly romanticized female photography. The models are clothed in sexy or romantic lingerie, blousy shirts with low cut tops, slit skirts, perhaps even female Renaissance garb and the like. The clothing all enables the showing off of the female form, and the idea is to emphasize the aesthetic beauty of the female.
Nude female glamour photography
For this type of female form photography, the woman is nude, but props may be added such as thigh-high stockings, garter belts, elbow-high gloves, belly button rings, and jewelry. The models usually make direct eye-contact with the camera and act flirtatious; however, raw sexuality is downplayed.
Erotic female glamour photography
Similar to the above, except there is usually no clothing worn at all, although there is often jewelry or nail polish and lipstick worn, and the model tends to prose provocatively.
Nude female art photography
Full frontal nudity is not necessary. The photographer can use selectively placed furnishings, drapes, or clothing to isolate just certain parts of the female body while covering up or de-emphasizing the rest in order to create a certain mood.
Erotic female art photography
This type of photography often show only the female's body or a close-up of certain parts of her body, without showing the model's face. The object is to show her raw sexuality explicitly, but in an artful way.
Selecting a Model for Female Form Photography
Selecting a model for female form photography requires you to have some understanding of what's involved in this photographic process. When you talk to a potential subject, assess the following:
Attitude
Do you feel like you would enjoy working with the model? Is she positive about idea of female form photography? Does she fully understand what you have in mind?
Physical qualities
You need to know why your artistic eye is drawn to a particular woman. Is it her skin? Her facial features and hair? Her curves or proportions? Her athletic body? The model needs to fit in with something that you want to photograph.
Experience
Does she know what she's doing? If she has little experience, does it seem to you like she would be a "natural" at posing for this kind of photography? Does she give the impression that she can have a professional demeanor about it all?
Remember, once you have a model to work with for female form photography, always be absolutely respectful, complimentary, and mindful of her space. Don't touch her at all without first asking her permission. Keep her comfortable and give her plenty of breaks from being in front of the camera eye. Let the camera worship her form!
