Child Photography: Let their Personalities shine!
by Bozo

Reader Post: Child photography is my favorite genre.
In the beginning I just loved to photograph children because the pics also seem so fresh and bright... Since the birth of my own children, I've really worked at trying to turn a photograph of a unique child into a work of art.
My best child photography tip to make this happen is to allow their personalities to shine through. Props help in this regard, but also the environment you choose for the photo, what they wear - and most importantly their body language and facial expressions.
One of my best child photography experiences was photographing a little girl who just loved dancing, dressed up as a ballerina with a dreamy, almost ethereal look on her face. Those pics are truly spectaculare and I'm sure one of her parent's most priceless possessions.
I've also had some wonderful child photography sessions on the soccer field, playing in a tree house, and baking cookies - but only if it suited the child's personality and they had fun in the process.
Make sure to take lots of photos... out of a 100 you may only keep one in the end, but make sure that ONE shows who they truly are.
